The BCCI is reportedly looking for sponsorships ahead of Asia Cup 2025 and they are running a race against time. The BCCI has ended all associations with Dream 11 as per reports after Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have imposed a ban on gaming & fantasy apps. The new rule came into effect after the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill was passed.

This has landed the BCCI in a tricky position with the board ending its deal with the fantasy gaming app. Dream11 were the official sponsors of the Indian team for four years starting from 2023. However, with the bill now being passed, all the fantasy gaming platforms have been banned.

There Will Be A Replacement - BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia

Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia has confirmed that the BCCI will end all their associations with Dream11.

“Under the new legislation, it will be difficult for BCCI to continue with Dream11 or any other identical gaming companies. So, there is a roadblock and I don't think BCCI will be able to continue with Dream11 now. We are deliberating on an alternative course of action at this stage,” said Saikia to IANS.

As per reports in NDTV, two companies have shown interest in becoming the Indian cricket team’s title sponsor.

“Toyota Motor Corporation and a Fintech start-up have all shown interest till now. However, the official tendering process has not started yet," the report stated.

The same report further stated that the Asia Cup jerseys for the Indian team have already been printed with the Dream 11 logo on them. Previously, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia on Friday said that the board will follow the laws of the country.

“Dream 11 will not be with us anymore, under the new law. So we still have some time, at least 20 days or in fact, just about 15 days. So, if something develops within these 15-20 days, there will be a replacement. Otherwise, we'll see how it will progress over a period of time.”
